According to UNICEF, one in ten school girls in Kenya miss classes or drop out completely due to their periods, and substitute pads or tampons for less safe and less absorbent materials such as rags and tissue paper.

In 2014, Connect With a Child have been able to give out 2,850,000 sanitary towels to girls in Siaya.  The number of young girls missing school have gone down with ½ of the number of the population that were missing school as result of lack of sanitary towels during their monthly circle. This shows that the pregnancy and HIV rate infection among the girl child too has reduce in great number. We are still looking for friends, schools, medical centers or any other well-wishing friends that would love to partner  with us so as to bring this percentage ofgirls getting sick of HIV Aids / dropping from school because of pregnancy and missing class drop to zero.
