Connect With a Child is a Christian organization that believes that better health leads to a better families and Nation, so we partner with medical friends that have desire to put their hands medical mission that causes an-impact.
What will I be doing?

As volunteer with Connect With A Child medical mission group, you will be working with people in Siaya in our local clinic carrying out tests, offering medical help, counselling sufferers on home visits, and engaging in community education projects.

You will spend time in our local clinic administering tests and helping to analyse results of different sickness.

You will also engage in counselling as we provide people with their results especially those affected with HIV. This work can be challenging but is vital to the long-term eradication of HIV.

If you’d like to find out more about volunteering on our medical mission program Please appy now and you will hear from our specialist trip adviser.

Volunteers are generally expected to work at their placement five days a week. Saturday is more of a rest day and Sunday we ask all our volunteers to accompany us to local church gathering.

Otherwise Weekday mornings will start with breakfast with other volunteers at our volunteer house before you head off to work. Working with villagers brings unique challenges every day, but you’ll find it very exciting and more fun. Your morning work will often start out at a local clinic, helping to administer different sickness and tests.

We also run regular counselling and education projects, and you’re likely to be asked to assist with these.

You will generally finish your placement at around 5pm, though this will depend on the day. When you finish you’ll get a chance to unwind with other volunteers and local team members over dinner, and we often organise games and activities of our own in the evenings.

Most of our volunteers in SIaya Kenya live in our purpose-built volunteer mission house, supervised and run by our local team. Living in our volunteer house is great fun, and provides the perfect balance between getting involved in a big Kenyan family, and having the opportunity to relax with other like-minded volunteers.

You will most likely be sharing dorm-style rooms with other volunteers, and these are typically single-sex. We also have some private rooms available.

All of Connect With A Child volunteers in Kenya also get the opportunity to take part in at least two extra trips during their stay in Kenya.

The first of these is to go for safari’s and get to see the big fives of Kenya finest wild animals. Everyone that has gotten the opportunity to make this visit, has never been disappointed.

The other trip Connect With A Child offers is a visit Nairobi City Tour. This is your chance to relax after the stresses of your placement and provides the opportunity to get up close and personal with giraffes and elephants at the animal orphanage. It will also help to orientate you in Kenya’s capital city – a vibrant and exciting place, with plenty to explore!
